Things to do in Sydney / NSW

Updated: Nov 20, 2023

If you have seen my recent Instagram posts you will know that I have shared some really fun, cool & unique things to do in NSW and Sydney. Whether you are coming here for the first time, you are already a Sydney-sider, or you have friends / family coming over here - I wanted to make sure you have some inspiration behind your memorable travels.

Part 1
  1. Kayaking around Sydney Harbour - Sunrise / Sunset & other options with @SydneyKayakX Check out their Instagram page by clicking the handle!

  2. Sunflower Picking at @GlenbernieFamilyFarms

  3. Have a very special movie night at "The World's Most Beautiful Cinema" with @WestpacOpenAir

  4. Hop On & Off around Sydney to experience our wonderful city sights with @BigBusTours

  5. Visit Quarantine Beach Manly - a hidden gem, the locals don't want us to know about!

  6. Enjoy the fun of the crazy upside-down house at Moore Park - @TheHouseDownUnder

  7. Set off on a scenic coastal walk around Kamay Bay National Park

  8. Go Glamping at Turon Gates Mountain Retreat. For 20% off all stays from now until Christmas use code: GlampNow for a discount! - December 2022 only.

My Wish- List:

Places I would LOVE to experience - and they are on my bucketlist;

  • Orange - for the spectacular scenery, the stunning wineries and to get away from the hustle & bustle of city life. Orange is just over 3.5 hours driving from Sydney CBD, so it is totally doable!

  • Speaking of tranquility, I have yet to try out on these Tiny Homes - https://pennygranny.com.au/ but I've been checking them out on social media, something very unique, cool, sustainable & cost effective! These houses are combatting the rental crisis in Australia which is amazing, but I think from a Travelers perpective and dreaming of our next getaway (as per usual) these kind of portable cabins would be amazing to escape to the countryside, unwind and have the luxury of a beautiful home, as well as being really affordable - the prices per week are astronomically cheap! The concept still blows my mind that a tiny home could form part of any property so you could stay in any location you want to tick off across QLD, NSW, ACT & VIC. My prediction is these types of accommodation will really take off over the next couple of years - for us travel lovers both as somewhere to stay and explore a new destination, but more wisely - why not use it as a source of passive income - and rent it out as a Granny Flat!

  • Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb - I still have not accomplished this and I have lived in Sydney 7 years! Some day I will make it my mission to book it, and climb over our idyllic harbour and admire the glorious views! It is an absolute bucketlist of mine - and I feel like I will get to experience it some day!

Part 2

  1. Explore Sydney harbour on a Self-Guided Tour - book with @TravelPlayground

  2. Unwind at The Sanctuary Hideaway Air BnB Bilgola Plateau - Sydney's Northern Beaches

  3. Let off some steam with @SmashroomCity - Homebush

  4. Find the Hidden Clues & solve the Murder Mystery at Elizabeth Bay Mansion - with @FeverGlobal

  5. Embark on a walking Trail to Jelly Bean Pool, and finish up with a swim & picnic!

  6. Escape busy life & visit Dangar Island - either for a Day Trip or a Weekend Getaway. The BoatShed Bliss Air BnB

  7. Drift along Parramatta River in Danish-style Picnic Boats at Cabarita Point with @GoBoatSydney

  8. Cool down at MacCallum Seawater Pool with the most Iconic Backdrop ever - Cremorne.

As always the recommendations I share regularly are based on the experience that I have had, the places I have seen with my own two eyes and I've got the content to share with you!
